Now you can book a sand lorry at Mee Seva centres

Hyderabad: Mines Minister K. Tarakarama Rao on Friday announced that in order to meet the local demand, the facility of booking a sand lorry would be provided at Mee Seva Centres.

The minister was addressing a meeting which was held to review the illegal sand mining and their transportation. DGP Mahender Reddy and senior officials of Mines & Geology Department were also present in the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, KTR said that the local residents would be able to book a sand lorry for their needs. In case the request gets rejected, then the reasons for doing so would also be revealed.

He directed the officials to use satellite technology to monitor sand mining. He said the vehicles transporting sand should be linked with GPRS and all of them should have RFID tag.

The minister also announced that special inspection teams would be constituted at the State level to prevent illegal transportation of sand. He directed the officials to take stern action against those involved in illegal sand mining operations. (INN)
