Telangana Govt may introduce Rs. 15,000 Cr Agri Budget

Hyderabad: Telangana Government is most likely to present a seperate budget for agriculture sector for the year 2018-19 by making an allocation of Rs. 15,000 crore.

According to sources, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has directed the officials to prepare the draft budget by incorporating various schemes. It includes Rs. 4,000 per acre per season to be paid to the farmers as input subsidy for seeds and fertilizers. The first payment will be made in May this year.

The State Government is likely to incur an expenditure of Rs. 11,370 crore on the scheme. Another Rs. 4,000 crore are likely to be allocated for other schemes of agriculture sector.

The budget is likely to be presented in the month of February. (INN)
