Dy CM formally invites CM KCR for Samakka Sarakka festival

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari and Tourism Minister Azmeera Chandulal invited Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao to visit Medaram Sammakka Sarakka festival.

Sammakka Sarakka Temple Trust Chairman Lingaiah, Chief priest Jaggarao along with other priests met the Chief Minister at Pragati Bhavan and handed over the formal invitation. On the occasion, the Chief Minister released the poster and CD of the festival.

He has asked the ministers to supervise and monitor the arrangements for the Jathara as several lakhs of people visit the place during the festival. He said there should not be any chance for any problem during the festival.

Deputy CM Srihari explained to the Chief Minister about the arrangements made for the Jathara.

“During the 2016 Jathara, the Chief Minister had sanctioned Rs 140 Crore and now Rs 80 Crore. With these funds we have made all arrangements for the visiting devotees. This time we have made arrangments on a permanent basis. The roads from Bhoopalpally, Pasra and Tadvai to Medaram were made into double lane roads.

Dress changing rooms and toilets are constructed on a permanent basis. Haritha hotel is constructed newly. We have set up a Museum to show case besides Sarakka Sammakka Jathara, the rich tribal culture,” Srihari explained. (INN)
