Responsibility lies on parents and teachers to mould children: Governor

Hyderabad: Participating as Chief Guest in the Annual Day Celebrations of Raj Bhavan Govt High School held at Khairatabad on Saturday, Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan said children get to be influenced by four categories of people in their early years – Father and Mother at home, Teachers at School and friends in the society.

He said great responsibility lies on these four to mould the children to be good citizens of the society. These four make an impression on students in early childhood days and it stays with them forever. Parents should teach their children good manners, attitude and how to treat elders and women with respect.

Children imitate parents in these aspects so great responsibility lies on parents to ensure that the children grow up in a good environment. The behaviour of Father and Mother makes a great impression in the minds of children, said the Governor.

Tell them to treat elders and women with utmost respect. These days it is very essential for the children to imbibe these qualities, said the Governor.

The Governor said that the school is like a temple and Teachers are looked at as a role model by the students. Governor said, enormous responsibility lies on the Teachers to make the children to become good human beings.

Teachers should never compare students with one another because there are some students who are fast learners and some students who are slow learners.

Great responsibility lies on the Teachers to carry all students along. The role of parents, teachers and friends in moulding and shaping minds of young children cannot be forgotten.

Narasimhan said the Raj Bhavan Govt High School is a very old school, established more than five decades ago and now it is recognised as a Model School in the State. Governor said that the School has produced illustrious alumni such as Mr. Bala Prasad, a senior IAS Officer, serving as Officer on Special Duty to President of India and the Vice Chancellor of JNTU.

He complimented Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, Khairatabad MLA, for taking immense interest in the development of the school and welfare of the students. The school is being looked at by all other Govt schools in the State as a Model school, so responsibility lies on the students to perform well.

Governor appreciated the Head Master and Teachers for the hard work done by them in training the students, who presented wonderful performances in folk song and dance and cultural programmes. Governor also complimented the students who won awards in academics and sports categories.

The Governor specially appreciated the members of Old Students Association of the school for sponsoring awards to students in various categories and remembering their school and teachers with gratitude.

He said Teachers have made them what they are today so it is good to see them payback to the school. (INN)
