Forest Dept rescues Deer from dry well

Hyderabad: The staff of Forest Department on Monday rescued a Deer who had fallen in a dry well near Mokila village near Shankarpally in Shamshabad district.

On information, the Forest Department dispatched the Anti-poaching Squad from Hyderabad headed by a Range Officer to take up rescue of the deer. The Police from Shankarpally PS arrived at the site and controlled the crowd there.

Another rescue team from Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad led by Dr. Asadullah, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon also arrived along with rescue van. Together, the rescue teams managed to fly down into the well using rope ladders and after some effort restrained the Deer which turned out to be Four Horned Antelope (Chowsinga or Kondagorre).

The Antelope had superficial bruises on its legs, throat and back. First aid was administered at the site and the wild animal was carefully placed into a wooden crate and transported to Nehru Zoo Park in Hyderabad. (INN)
