‘Praja Chaitanya Yatra’ will trigger a silent revolution: Uttam

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the ‘Praja Chaitanya Yatra’ being launched by the Congress party on Monday will trigger a revolution in the State.

Addressing the ‘Atmeeya Sammelan’ of old NSUI and Youth Congress leaders at Indira Bhavan on Sunday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the proposed bus yatra was not a show of strength by Congress party, but an instrument to express dissatisfaction and disappointment against the TRS Government which failed on all fronts.

He said it was the duty of each and every Congress worker to enlighten the people on the cheating and sufferings they underwent under TRS rule. He said people should be cautioned against the trickery of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao who repeatedly cheated the people with his false promises and fake claims.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party, which had won the elections in 2004 and 2009, lost power in 2019 due to incumbency factor as people trusted the tall promises of Prime Minister Narender Modi and CM KCR.

He said within one year after coming to power, KCR has encouraged defections and lured leaders from Sarpanch to MP from other parties. He said KCR tried to wipe out Congress party from Telangana State by trying to bribe or intimidate all MPs, MLAs and MLCs.

He said an atmosphere was created as if Congress party would be finished before next election. Similarly, BJP made claims that after the visits of PM Modi and Amit Shah it would come to power in Telangana State.

However, he said all Congress leaders bravely fought the intimidating tactics of TRS leadership and strengthened the party to the level that today it is all set to return to power in next elections. He said that there was a huge difference in the Congress party that existed in 2015 and the present one of 2018.

The TPCC chief said common people have realised that KCR Government was not doing anything for them. He said despite completing four years in power, TRS Government has failed to fulfil any major electoral promise that it made with the people.

He said KCR remained focus on the growth of his own family while neglecting the welfare of all others in Telangana State. He said through bus yatra, the Congress party would expose all failures of TRS and BJP Government and build pressure on TRS and BJP Governments to fulfil their promises.

He said TRS Government would be asked to either distribute promised 3 acres of land for each Dalit family or deposit Rs. 15 lakh each in their family’s account.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said all Congress leaders and workers, from booth to State level, should participate in the bus yatra. He also stressed on making effective use of social media to take party’s message to the people. He said Social Media Coordinators were being appointed for nearly 30,640 booths across Telangana State.

He said several NSUI and Youth Congress leaders have made huge contributions for the party and their services would be duly recognised. He also requested Congress veterans to play an active role in making bus yatra a grand success.

The TPCC Chief also listed out various steps that the Congress party proposes to take after coming to power. They include waiver of crop loans up to Rs. 2 lakh, unemployment allowance of Rs. 3,000 per month, clearance of interest subsidy dues for women SHGs, etc.,

The meeting was also addressed by TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, former PCC Presidents V. Hanumantha Rao and Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Kisan Cell Chairman M. Kodanda Reddy, Youth Congress president Anil Kumar Yadav and other leaders. (INN)
