‘All Women Stations’ on South Central Railway

Hyderabad: With a view to empower the women work force in Railways and to develop their morale and self confidence, South Central Railway has taken initiative to make Chandragiri railway station in Guntakal Division, a ‘All Women Station’ by deploying women staff to handle all the day to day activities including train operations, ticketing, security and other relevant duties.

Continuing with this endeavour, two more railway stations on SCR i.e., Begumpet railway station on Secunderabad Division which is one of the busiest suburban stations in Hyderabad City and Phirangipuram railway station on Guntur Division are also set to become ‘All Women Station’ from 8th March coinciding with ‘International Women’s Day’.

At Chandragiri railway station, the women staff comprise of 4 Assistant Station Masters and 3 Points Women. During the course of inspection of Chandragiri station today, Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway appreciated the staff for rendering their duties with full dedication and commitment.

At Begumpet railway station, South Central Railway is planning to deploy 8 women Commercial Clerks, 4 Enquiry Cum Reservation Clerks, 6 Constables and 01 Sub-Inspector of Railway Protection Force to handle the day to day operations and to provide smooth and hassle free service to passengers.

At Phirangipuram railway station, it is planned to post a total of 11 women staff which includes 3 Assistant Station Masters, 6 Points Women and 2 Railway Protection Force Constables. (INN)
