Dy CM appeals MRPS to withdraw bandh call

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari on Sunday appealed Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) leaders to withdraw Telangana Bandh call given by them demanding categorisation of Scheduled Castes.

Speaking to media persons, the Deputy CM said that the bandh might cause inconvenience to lakhs of intermediate students who need to appear for their exams. However, he said that the intermediate exams would be held as scheduled and there would be no change.

He said MRPS leaders should withdraw the bandh call in the interest of intermediate students. He said that MRPS could not be allowed to play politics by hurting the interest of students.

He said that talks were on with Congress leaders Jana Reddy and Uttam Kumar Reddy, BJP leader Dr. K. Lakshman and other parties requesting them to withdraw the support that they have extended to MRPS bandh.

Kadiam said that the TRS Government was sincere towards categorisation of SCs. However, he said that Prime Minister Narender Modi has refused an appointment when TS Government tried to take an all-party delegation to Delhi three times.

The Deputy CM said efforts were being made to declare the intermediate results before April 15. (INN)
