Hyderabad: Marketing Minister T. Harish Rao on Monday informed the Legislative Assembly during Question Hour that after the formation of Telangana State, as many as 330 godowns were taken up with the storage capacity of 17.075 Lakh MTs.
Replying to a question raised by MLA G. Balaraju, he said that the State Government has also sanctioned 34 additional godowns with a capacity of 1.22 Lakh MTs from the available savings amount due to acceptance of less tender premium. Finally, total godowns capacity increased to 18.30 Lakh MTs with 364 godowns.
He said Rs. 1024.50 crore were estimated for the said godowns, out of which Rs. 818.14 crore have been spent so far. He said that the government proposes to set up agricultural godowns in newly formed Mandals in the State. (INN)
