Hemanth Soren visits Kaleshwaram Project

Hyderabad: Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemanth Soren on Friday visited Kaleshwaram Project and reviewed the ongoing works.

Accompanied with Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao, Soren went to Medigadda Barrage in a helicopter from Hyderabad. He was accorded a warm reception by Peddapalli District Collector and senior officials.

Harish Rao briefed Soren on various aspects of Kaleshwaram project. He told Soren that the project is scheduled to be completed in the next one year and works were being executed in three shifts by engaging nearly 26,000 workers. He said lakhs of acres spread across 17 districts would get irrigation water after the completion of project.

Impressed with the works, Hemanth Soren described Kaleshwaram Project as country’s biggest project and hoped that it would be completed before the scheduled deadline. He said the project was of high significance in terms technically.

Later, Hemanth Soren also visited Annaram Barrage. (INN)
