Governor not doing his duty: VHR

Hyderabad: Congress senior leader and former MP V. Hanumantha Rao has strongly criticised Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and accused him of playing the role of a middleman than performing his Constitutional duties.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, Hanumantha Rao referred to a few reports that appeared in a section of media wherein it was alleged that the Governor met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrashekhar Rao asking him to support BJP in Karnataka elections.

He said if the reports are true, then the Governor has done a highly condemnable job. He said it was wrong on the part of Narasimhan to directly work for a political party.

VHR said that the Congress party victory in Karnataka was inevitable. He said despite all conspiracies, Chief Minister Siddiramaiah would retain power in elections to be held next month.

The Congress leader also accused TRS Government of harassing Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof. M. Kodandaram. He said harassment has increased for Kodandaram after he launched Telangana Jana Samithi.

He said he was not being permitted even to hold a public meeting. He said TRS would face severe consequences in next elections if it continues its arrogant attitude. (INN)
