Over 83% students clear SSC exams

Hyderabad: As many as 83.78% students have passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations in Telangana State whose results were declared here on Friday.

Speaking after releasing the results at the State Secretariat, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari informed that girls have outperformed boys in the SSC exams. The pass percentage of boys was 82.46% while girls secured 85.14% pass percentage.

Of 538,958 registered candidates, as many as 534,726 had appeared for the SSC exams held from 15st March to 2nd April. They included 501,732 regular and 32,994 private candidates. The pass percentage of private candidates is 32.83.

The Deputy CM informed that this year 2,125 schools secured 100% of passes while 21 schools secured zero percentage passes. Jagitial district secured highest percentage of passes with 97.56% and Adilabad ranked lowest with 51.94%.

BC Welfare schools secured highest percentage of passes of 96.18% and Ashram Schools secured lowest percentage of passes (63.91%). The pass percentage of residential, minority residential, model, social welfare and private schools was higher than the State Average.

However, the pass percentage of KGBV, ZP, Ashram and Aided Schools, Government and Tribal Welfare Schools was less than State average (83.78%).

This year, the pass percentage decreased by 0.37% with 83.78% compared to 84.15% last year.

The supplementary examinations are scheduled from 4th to 19th June. The last day for payment of exam fee by the candidates to the Heads of Schools concerned is 21st May. (INN)
