TITA to promote Digithon and TIIC in US and Canada

Hyderabad: Just days after receiving two prestigious Skoch awards for Digithon in New Delhi, Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) team is heading for the US and Canada to promote Digithon and Telangana Innovation and Incubation Center (TIIC).

As part of the second visit to these nations, TITA team will promote its flagship programme ‘Digithon- Digital Village’ initiative and Telangana Innovation & Incubation Center (TIIC).

TITA Global President Sundeep Kumar Makthala will be visiting USA and Canada along with the team. The team will take part from 29th June to 3rd July in an ATA World Convention 2018 at Houston. It will visit California from 4th July to 8th July. On 9th July and 10th July, the team will take part in a Seattle meet. They will also be visiting Toronto, Canada for greet and meet of the Global President on 15th July.

TITA’s Digithon took its birth on 17th December 2015, with TITA taking up a unique initiative to adopt a village under the digital literacy programme designed as per National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) guidelines. This initiative in Telangana spearheaded by TITA made Basar village in Adilabad district, as first 100% digital literate village in Telangana. This event has made Basar village, an entry into the history books as a first digital village in Telangana.

Following suite, TITA has adopted Narsingapur, Nizamabad district, and Ghatuppal, Nalgonda as its next venue to make digital villages and completed the digital literacy programme, successfully. The TITA team never looked back and continued with its mission.

The ‘Digithon Digital Village’ initiative not only won accolades from the Central government, but also has received awards from Telangana State government consecutive years for its digital literacy programmes.

Digithon has also played an active role in the roll out of T-Wallet, a one of its kind initiative by any State government.

In pursuing to take this initiative further, Digithon team has decided to promote the Digithon Digital village initiative to NRIs requesting them to adopt a digital village.

On 29th June 2018, Digithon session is scheduled in American Telangana Association (ATA) – World Telangana Convention 2018 conference in Houston, Texas.

TITA President Sundeep Kumar Makthala appealed NRIs to sponsor their own village and join hands in making Telangana state as 100% Digital Literate State. And also, any NRI interested in investing and setting up office or operations in Telangana would be welcomed to be a part of Telangana Innovation and Incubation Centers.

TIICs are presently available in IIIT Basara, JNTU Hyderabad and other Districts as well. TIICs act as a bridge between investors and skilled youth in addition to providing a state-of-the-art office spaces.
