Heritage Wall of Telangana inaugurated at Dr. MCR HRD Institute

Hyderabad: Raghvendra Singh, Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Culture, inaugurated Heritage Wall of Telangana at Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana here on Tuesday. He was at the Institute to inaugurate the 62nd Session of Indian Historical Records Committee.

Raghvendra Singh congratulated the Institute for conceptualizing and implementing an innovative concept and underlined the importance of similar efforts by other institutions, across the country.

A K Goel, Advisor to Government of Telangana, who was present on this occasion, said that the Heritage Wall depicts the grandeur of the heritage and culture of multiple dynasties, spread over hundreds of years.

On this occasion, B P Acharya, Spl. Chief Secretary & DG, Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana said that the Heritage Wall would be of great help for the its trainees, both from Telangana and from across the country, to understand and appreciate the heritage and culture of Telangana in their true and total frame of reference.

The Heritage Wallshowcases the drawings of such iconic historical sites and monuments, built by the Kakatiya, Qutub Shahi, and Asafjahi rulers, such as Thousand Pillar Temple, Kakatiya Thoranam, Ramappa Temple, Golkonda Fort, QutubShahi Tombs, Charminar, Macca Masjid, Chowmohalla Palace, Falaknuma Palace, Spanish Mosque, Arts College, and Kachiguda Railway Station.

The drawings, etched in wood, are made by Shaik Subhani, an eminent artist and cartoonist of Hyderabad. (INN)
