Uttam writes to KCR thanking Harish Rao for predicting Congress win

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy wrote an open letter to caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao to answer questions raised by his nephew and minister T. Harish Rao.

“I was delighted to read the letter sent by Harish Rao wherein he predicted that Congress party was coming to power in Telangana State in next elections.

Harish Rao even stated that we are coming to power in alliance with the TDP. We felt very happy on receiving the letter and we thank you for the same,” Uttam Kumar Reddy said.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that Harish Rao’s letter was a confession that TRS dream of winning 100 seats in Assembly election has already shattered and the time has now come for KCR to permanently retire in his farm house. This will subsequently result in people getting freedom and democracy getting restored in Telangana State.

He thanked Harish Rao for the early forecast of TRS party’s defeat and victory of Congress party. He said now the formation of a people’s government in Telangana is almost a certainty.

While describing Harish Rao’s letter as a confession of TRS defeat, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the content of letter shows that TRS leaders not only lacked maturity, but also common sense.

It raised serious doubts not only their participation in Telangana statehood movement, but also on KCR’s governance. He said that the grand alliance would not have formed if TRS would have ruled Telangana in a proper manner.

The TPCC Chief said that the Congress party has the capacity to defeat TRS on its own. However, it was taking all like-minded parties together to ensure that TRS is completely wiped out of political map of Telangana State in next elections. He said Congress party came to power in 2004 although it had an alliance with the TRS.

Congress party retained power in 2009 despite the fact that TRS was part of TDP-led Mahakutumi. He said when TDP was a pro-Telangana party in 2009, why TRS was treating it as anti-Telangana now.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said TRS leaders did not felt ashamed when they invited Chandrababu Naidu for Chandi Yagnam and felicitated him. He reminded that KCR himself travelled to Vijayawada to meet Chandrababu Naidu to inivite him for Chandi Yagnam.

He also questioned the inclusion of Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Tummala Nageshwara Rao and Mahender Reddy in KCR cabinet although they were strong opponents of Telangana. Similarly, Danam Nagender and Teegala Krishna Reddy were inducted in TRS and given a prominent position in the party.

Further, he said that the MIM which openly opposed Telangana is now an ally of TRS. “KCR doesn’t field ashamed in allying with a party which was opposed to Telangana,” he said.

The TPCC Chief said that the then Congress president Sonia Gandhi granted statehood for Telangana in view of sacrifices and struggle by youth and students.

However, KCR did nothing to provide jobs to youth but eradicated unemployment from his own family by giving top posts to five members of his family. He said the KCR family got notorious for allegedly collecting 6% commission from contractors of various projects.

He said instead of listening to the woes of people, KCR remained engulfed around various superstitions during the last four-and-a-half years and consequently, dissolved the Assembly nine months before the schedule.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that there was no need for the Congress party to give any explanation on having an alliance with TDP. Instead, he said TRS owes an explanation to people of Telangana on its performance during the last four-and-a-half years.

He said people’s welfare took a back seat and the entire State has been pushed into a huge debt trap. He said Telangana emerged on top in corruption, crimes, horse trading of legislators, rapes and sale of liquor. He said it was the fear of a humiliating defeat which is prompting the TRS leaders to target the alliances between Congress, TDP and other parties.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the previous Congress regimes have constructed 86 projects on Krishna and Godavari rivers. He said the projects being pursued by TRS regime were originally started during Congress Government.

He said it was a common practice for the neighbouring States to complain against the irrigation projects being constructed in a State with the Centre.

He said the previous Congress Governments had guts to fight with neighbouring States and complete the projects. However, TRS lacked strength to fight with others to protect Telangana’s interest. He said that the powers to resolve the disputes over irrigation projects, employees, distribution of water and several other issues lie with the Centre.

Instead of making proper and effective representation with the Centre, KCR remained busy singing ‘bhajans’ in praise of Prime Minister Narender Modi.

The TPCC Chief said allegations of Chandrababu Naidu causing obstructions in Mission Bhagiratha works only shows the inefficiency of TRS Government. He said TRS Government procured loans of thousands of crores in the name of Mission Bhagiratha and looted the State.

He reminded that KCR had vowed that he would not seek votes if he fails to provide drinking water through taps to all households. However, just to cover up his failure and inability to fulfil the promise, he is blaming Chandrababu Naidu.

Further, he said TRS was wrongly blaming Naidu of snatching away 460 MW Cellular Power Project of Rs. 5,000 crore from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh. He said that the TRS Government did not make a single representation with the Centre to get this project for Telangana.
