Secunderabad Passenger Reservation Complex bags gold

Hyderabad: South Central Railways Passenger Reservation Complex, Secunderabad bagged the “Gold Prize in Telangana State Energy Conservation Awards-2018” presented by Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TSREDCO) in Government building category at State level for implementation of exceptional energy conservation measures.

The award was presented by E.S.L.Narasimhan, Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States, to Amit Varadan, Divisional Railway Manager of Secunderabad Division today i.e., 20th December, 2018 at a function held at Institute of Engineers (Viswesvaraya Bhavan), Hyderabad.

Earlier, the energy conservation measures implemented for this building were appreciated at National level by conferring first prize in National Energy Conservation (NEC) Awards, 2018 which was presented by Ministry of Power.

The certificate was received by A.L.Phadke, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, South Central Railway and Amit Varadan, Divisional Railway Manager of Secunderabad Division at the hands of Sumitra Mahajan, Speaker of Lok Sabha.

Air-conditioning and lighting system of this large building (Passenger Reservation Complex, Secunderabad) has been improved by providing precision type ACs, VFDs for air handling units and LEDs.

As a result, annual energy consumption has reduced by 33.41% when compared to the previous year. In monetary terms, this is a saving of about Rs. 38.20 lakhs.
