TS to make police force accountable to people: HM

Hyderabad, INN: Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said that the State Government would make effective use of technology to make the police department accountable to people.

The Home Minister was speaking after inaugurating the modernised building of Petbasheerabad police station here on Sunday. He said that the police station has been modernised at a cost of Rs. 35 lakh. He said this was done as part of police modernisation drive.

Nayani said that the modernisation of police force was also aimed at empowering people with the use of technology. He said now people would be able to lodge their complaints online and no one would fear entering a police station as they used to do so in the past.

He said that the modernisation has improved the functioning of police force across the Telangana.

The event was also attended by Lok Sabha MP Malla Reddy, MLAs Vivekanand Goud and Sudheer Reddy, GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Cyberabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand, Additional Commisisoner Sashidhar Reddy and other senior officials.
