Guzaarish: Film on child adoption to release on Feb 14 in Hyderabad

Guzaarish, a short film based on the theme of child adoption, is slated to be screened on 14 February 2019 at Prasad Labs in Hyderabad.

The 20-minute film is produced by city-based NGO Helping 2 Hands, The AR Foundation. The movie is directed by Rakesh Gondle.

Speaking about the film, president of Helping 2 Hands foundation Abdur Rahman said there was a growing trend of child adoption in the country.

“At times, adoption becomes a tedious process. But childbirth is not easier either,” he explained while noting that they wanted to give a new lease of life to a child without parents through bringing awareness about adoption.

Guzaarish is one among many social initiatives of the Helping 2 Hands foundation. Launched in 2016 by a group of like-minded individuals from Hyderabad, the NGO works in the areas of child education, orphanage assistance, women empowerment, career counselling, etc.

The foundation also organizes 51 Smiles, a fashion walk to enhance the life of the kids from orphanages and help them by sponsoring their studies and living.

“We adopted 117 schools, sponsored students of 18 madrassas, donated 25 sewing machines and 12 jute bag machines, in addition to helping hundreds of women get employment,” Rahman said.
