Free feed distribution to shepherds of SRDS launched

Hyderabad: Free feed distribution to all the shepherds who have been supplied sheep units under Sheep Rearing Development Programme has been launched from today in the Telangana State.

The inauguration of the programme has been launched at Cherlagudem village of the Kandi Mandal, Sangareddy district by Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Secretary, AHDD&F Department and Director of Veterinary &Animal Husbandry Department, T.S. Hyderabad. Under this scheme each shepherd will be distributed 200Kg of concentrate feed per sheep unit on free of cost.

Sandeep Kumar Sultania, in his address, explained to the shepherds the importance of the concentrate feed, raising different varieties of green fodders and conservation of fodders by chaffing methods with chaff cutters.

The sheep should be protected during the summer by taking them to grazing morning and evening and provide adlibitum water and free vaccination scheduled will be followed round the year. Free Medical Kit worth of Rupees 415 has been supplied to all the beneficiaries’ under this scheme.

Dr. V Laxma Reddy, Managing Director, Telangana State Sheep & Goat Federation., Limited, Dr. Krishna Mohan, Joint Director, VBRI, Dr. Ramarao Rathod, Joint Director, Sangareddy and the Animal Husbandry staff have participated in the programme. (INN)
