Briefing the media persons about the discussions held in the Core Committee meeting, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the committee had resolved again that Rahul Gandhi should withdraw his resignation as the AICC President.

He said that the preparations for elections in all municipalities were being taken up seriously. He demanded that the State Government reserve 34% seats for Backward Classes, including Muslims (BC-E), as per the law. He also directed the District Congress Committee (DCC) Presidents to apply for land for the party offices in their respective districts.

The TPCC Chief said that indiscipline in the party would not be tolerated any further.

Uttam Kumar Reddy informed that a meeting of PCC Office Bearers and DCC Presidents would be held on June 29 at Nagarjuna Sagar.

He said a three member committee comprising of TPCC Working President Ponnam Prabhakar, AICC Secretaries A. Sampath Kumar and Vamshichand Reddy has been appointed to oversee the party’s strategy for municipal elections.

Sitting MLAs or contested candidates would be the incharges for 119 Assembly constituencies. In cases, where incharges had left the party, new leaders will be appointed as incharges.
