GHMC chief holds review meeting on ‘Saaf Hyderabad’

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will prepare draft list by 25th of this month of eligible persons for old age pension, those are above 57 years of age for sanction of Government’s old age pension, informed GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore here on Friday.

The Commissioner held a review meeting with Additional Commissioners, Zonal Commissioners and Joint collector and reviewed the ongoing programmes like ‘Saaf Hyderabad’ and ‘Shaandhar Hyderabad’, Collection of Property Tax, survey of old age persons and Swachh Swarvekshan, etc.,

Dana Kishore informed that the survey is to be done as per the voters list announced during November, 2018, for identifying old age pensioners who are above 57 years of age. The criteria for eligible person to get old age pension are the annual income should be 2 lakhs with no immovable properties in the city and instructed the DMCs to prepare list accordingly by 25th of this month.

The BLOs should visit each and every house and prepare eligible list and to obtain Adaar Number separately. The survey should be correlated with information obtained during Kutumbha survey and other available data whether they are already beneficiaries of old age pension or any other pension benefits., for this commissioner instructed the DMC to co-ordinate with the revenue officials.

The Commissioner appealed that the business establishments and street vendors must and should provide a dust bin at their place. Already GHMC has taken steps on awareness of having dust bin by the street vendors. Penalty will be imposed on those who not comply with the dust bin arrangements at their establishments. Proposals for welfare schemes and providing loans to street vendors are under consideration through banks said the Commissioner.

Dana Kishore said that a special Task Force would be constituted for revision of property Tax on commercial establishments in the city. The team will revise the commercial property tax on properties above 1,000 sq.yds on hotels, Shopping malls, Multiplex, function halls and private schools and other commercial establishments.

It has to the notice that buildings were constructed more floors than sanction plan and there is vast difference in laying of property tax, as such it is decided to inspect all the commercial buildings in the city.

For this a special task force will be constituted comprise of Town Planning GHMC, Revenue and Engineering officials for each zone and they will inspect commercial buildings of other zones vice versa and monitored by the central team from Head Office, GHMC. Further instructed the officials to file cases if necessary and they should maintain transparency.

Till now Rs.714 crores were collected when compared to last years on this day is 560.39 crores., and fixed target for Rs.123 crores for July month.

Till now penalty was imposed on 4,000 Swachh offenders and amount of Rs.56,31,350 imposed on them. A good response is seen for Saaf Hyderabad and Shandaar Hyderabad.

Additional Commissioners Shruthi Ojha, Sikta Patnaik and Adwait Kumar Singh, Zonal Commissioners Harichandana Dasari, Musharaff Ali, Raghu Prasad, Srinivas Reddy, Joint Collector Hyderabad G. Ravi and other senior officials attended the meeting. (INN)
