TITA to conduct Digithon Yatra in Mulugu

Hyderabad: DigithonYatra, launched by TITA with software professionals as part of its campaign to spread digital literacy among government school students will reach Mulugu district on September 14. Collector Narayana Reddy conducted a coordination meeting in this regard here on Saturday.

DEO, RDOs and MEOs were present in the review meeting.

As part of the DigithonYatra, TITA will conduct two-day digital literacy campaign for the students of Class 8 and 9 in the district. Students will be taught about the basic of computer systems, internet, Google Maps, operating online transactions, creating e-mail and other basic of computer during the 16-hour digital classes.

Software professionals will spend two-days at the residential schools. They will also conduct discussions, camp fire for students. Details of all these initiatives were discussed at the review meeting at the Mulugu District Collectorate.

District Collector Narayana Reddy evinced interest for the initiative to be taken up in the district after a similar exercise was taken up successfully in Gadwal and Wanaparthy districts.

Earlier, TITA also took up a massive awareness campaign on cashless transactions in Nalgonda district where in 300 Digithon volunteer trained 3,000 retail store owners on the basics of online transactions. Then, GauravUppal was District Collector while Narayana Reddy was Joint-Collector of the district.

During the primary discussions for Mulugu District, DEO, RDOs, MEOs and TITA Joint Secretary Mahendar Reddy decided to conduct digital literacy programmes in all eight mandals of the district. After the DigithonYatra, students will be taken for industrial tour and then for T-Hub visit.

Students will also be provided digital literacy books. A TITA Innovation Club will be established in every government school. This club will have two students and a teacher as its members who will work in coordination with TITA volunteer who will act as mentors for the club.

Speaking on the occasion TITA Founder Sundeep Kumar Makthala said that they will carry digital literacy programme on a large scale in Mulugu district after successfully doing so in Gadwal and Wanaparthy district.

He said that the online attendance system initiated by Collector Narayana Reddy through MuluguVelugu app in school has generated positive results. Such initiatives will be carried out in all district in near future, he Sandeep said.

Speaking on the occasion Collector Narayana Reddy said that the digital literacy campaign was very success in the other district. He appreciated TITA’s online cashless transactions campaign in Nalgonda and urged TITA to conducts its digital literacy campaigns extensively in Mulugu district. (INN)
