Uttam condemns assault by UP police on Priyanka Gandhi

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President & Nalgonda MP Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has strongly condemned the Uttar Pradesh police for manhandling AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi during her visit to Lucknow on Saturday.

Uttam Kumar Reddy, in a media statement, said that a woman police officer even tried to strangulate Priyanka Gandhi and she was manhandled while she was on her way to meet the family of members of former IPS officer SR Darapuri and party member Sadar Jafar who were arrested during anti-CAA protest in Lucknow.

The TPCC Chief said that the BJP Government has adopted an improper towards the Nehru-Gandhi family. He said the SPG security for the family members was withdrawn and now they are being targeted using police personnel.

Uttam Kumar Reddy demanded a high level enquiry into the incident and said immediate and stern action should be taken against those responsible for the same. (INN)
