Telangana is on alert to prevent Coronovirus spread: Etala

Hyderabad: Health Minister Etala Rajender on Thursday briefed the Legislative Assembly on the steps taken by the State Government to prevent the Coronavirus in the State.

Replying to a question raised by MLA S. Ramalinga Reddy during Question Hour, the Minister said that a State Level Coordination Committee has been formed and Nodal Officer is designated. He said a State Control Room has been established at Hyderabad and 104 Call Center has been operating as Corona helpline.

Further, thermal screening is being done at Rajeev Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad for passengers coming foreign countries.

The Minister said that isolation wards have been established at 13 Government Hospitals in the State. He said ICMR accredited COVID-19 testing Lab has been set up at Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad.

IEC Activities have been carried out for awareness to general public and detailed instructions are issued to all districts on surveillance, prevention etc., he said. (INN)
