Harithaharam: Hyderabad readies for plantation of 25 lakh saplings

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), along with HMDA and Forest Department, has made elaborate arrangements for the 25 lakh mega plantation on Monday in its limits, said GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan said here on Sunday.

The Mayor, along with Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin and GHMC Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, held a press conference on Sunday to brief about the arrangements made for the Harithaharam program.

The Mayor said people from different walks of life, including Sports and Film personalities, IT Industry, NGOs and educational institutions, have come forward to participate in the Harithaharam.

The Commissioner informed that distribution counters were opened in various locations for supply of medicinal and avenue plants and the information was also available on the website.

Special counters have been opened at major temples and churches for supply of medicinal and homestead plants. He appealed to the citizens to make use of this opportunity and participate in this mega Harithaharam program to make Hyderabad a green city.

Additional Commissioner Shiv Kumar Naidu and Urban Bio-Diversity Director Damodhar were also present in the press meet. (INN)
