Overwhelming response to Harita Haram

Warangal: Telangana State Legislative Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudhana Chary appreciated State Government’s green drive, Telangana Ku Harita Haram, saying that the it would increase the forest cover in the state and would give long term benefits to the people.

Participating in the green drive at the Kakatiya University campus here on Sunday, Madhusudana Chary said that the green drive, aimed at planting 230 crore saplings in five years, in itself is a record.

The government is aiming at increasing the forest cover in the state from 24 per to 33 per cent and this would solve many environmental issues.

He urged the masses t to wholeheartedly participate in the drive. Mayor N. Narendar and other public representatives were present.

In a related development, Representatives of Poultry Association handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lakh to ministers E. Rajendar and Talasani Srinivas Yadav towards the Harita Haram drive.

The ministers participated in the green drive at Jalavihar in Hyderabad organized by the Poultry Association.

The representatives of the Association lauded the efforts of the TS government saying that the state government was taking various projects aimed at overall development of the state.

The ministers appreciated the gesture of the Association and promised to look into the issues faced by poultry industry in the state. (INN)
