KTR plants saplings at ITC’s facility

Hyderabad: ITC Limited on Friday reinforced its commitment towards the enrichment of environmental resources by planting saplings at its Integrated Consumer Goods Manufacturing and Logistics (ICML) facility in Telangana, as part of the State Government’s ‘Harita Haram’ initiative.

Industries Minister K. Tarakarama Rao, who was the Chief Guest, planted saplings at the ITC – ICML site. Among the other dignitaries present at the event were Principal Secretary (Industries & Commerce) Arvind Kumar, Commissioner of Industries K Manicka Raj, TSIIC Vice Chairman & Managing Director E V Narasimha Reddy and ITC Ltd Group Head of Projects, R&D, Environment Health & Safety Chitranjan Dar.

The ITC’s Paperboards and Specialty Papers Division (ITC PSPD) has partnered with Telangana Government in their mega plantation drive by planting 8.5 lakhs saplings.

As part of the initiative, ITC will also share GPS coordinates of the aforesaid plantations, as well as ensure maintenance of these plants for the next three years.

Speaking on the occasion, Chitranjan Dar lauded the Telangana Government on its Harita Haram initiative and wished it achieves greater heights and success to make the State greener and healthier. (INN)
