NEP lays special focus on Technology: Prof. Rahmatullah

Hyderabad: National Education Policy (NEP) lays special focus on promotion of Science and Technology with interdisciplinary approach. The School of Computer Sciences & Information Technology at MANUU will play an important role in implementing the NEP for both regular and Distance mode courses. Prof. S. M. Rahmatullah, Vice Chancellor Incharge, expressed these views yesterday while delivering the presidential address in the inaugural session of two day National conference “Computational methods, Data Science and Applications” organized by the School of Technology, Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU). The inaugural was held virtually through Zoom & MANUU YouTube channel.  

The Chief Guest, Prof. Abdul Quaiyum Ansari, Faculty of Engineering, department of Electrical Engineering, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi briefly shared the evolution in the teaching and learning process and wide research applications of IT in computational models. He also asked the students to realize their potential with sincerity and self-belief. 

Prof. Abdul Wahid, Dean, School of Technology, welcomed and discussed about the ongoing programs and the research at the School & Department. He also assured authority for supporting NEP integration.

Dr. Malik Yousef, Zefat Academic college delivered the keynote address on “MultiBioGS: Biological Multi Data Integration Approach Based on Machine Learning” taking the audience through the intriguing discussion of gene classification. Prof. Siddiqui Mohammad Mahmood, Registrar I/c MANUU discussed activities of the University which makes it stand out.

Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Convenor of the conference while acknowledging the rapid growth in the field of science & technologies said that this conference will provide a forum for researchers and professionals from the academia and industry to exchange their ideas in latest trends, innovations and research advancements in the field of IT. Dr. Syed Imtiyaz Hassan, Head of the Department delivered the welcome address.

In the technical session on May 25,  Dr. Khalid Raza, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, JMI delivered lecture on “Computational and Big Data Challenges in Bioinformatics”, whereas Dr. Mohammad Zakwan, Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering, MANUU, Polytechnic on “Application of Computational Intelligence in Engineering Problems”

In the valedictory session, Prof. Salman Abdul Moiz, School of Computer and Information Sciences, University of Hyderabad was the guest of honour. Dr. Pradeep Kumar while presenting conference report informed that 40 papers were presented.
