Hyderabad: The Modern Hindi literature has left behind the European literature as well. Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) expressed the view as the chief guest in the valedictory session of online lecture series “Aadhunik Hindi Sahitya ki Dishayein” (New Dimensions of Contemporary Hindi Literature) held on July 30.
The Department of Hindi, MANUU organized the seven-day lectures series on 19th, 23rd and 26th to 30th of July 2021.
While talking about adaptation, Prof. Hasan remembered the Nagari Natak Mandali of Banaras and the theater of Allahabad. The communion that we get to see from this event is not found anywhere else in the world. The communion is nothing but the several innovative ideas regarding Hindi which are being introduced in MANUU. While praising the coordination of culture, he also spoke about the Panchatattva. Taking the example of the Mahabharata, he said that each one of us receives our own karma.
The special guest, Prof. Siddiqui Mohd Mahmood, Registrar I/c said that in order to understand the truth, it is necessary to know everyone’s thoughts. The difficulties do not arise if everyone maintains their boundaries, he added.
The chief speaker, renowned litterateur and critic, Prof. Pratap Sehgal, while discussing stage, theater and theatrical adaptation of a story, spoke about the requirements of staging of the story effortlessly. It is necessary for the staging to be entertaining so that the audience accept it. Hindi story, stories from foreign languages, poetry, fiction and autobiography are also being staged, he said.
The convener, Dr. Karan Singh Utwal, Head, Department of Hindi, MANUU explained theatrical adaptation of fiction and stated that drama is life and also a tableau of life. He also presented the report of the lecture series.
Prof. Rishabha deo Sharma in his presidential speech while discussing the topics of the lectures delivered by the subject experts – Dr. Bhim Singh, Prof. Vijay Bahadur Singh, Ms.Manisha Kulshreshth, Prof.Meraj Ahmed, Dr. Ajay Navaria, Dr. Vivek Dubey and Prof. Pratap Sehgal, agreed with their views.The Research Scholars – Priyanka Kumari compered the programme and Abhishek Ranjan proposed vote of thanks. Faculty members Dr. G. V. Ratnakar, Dr. D. Seshu Babu, Dr. Pathan Rahim Khan and Dr. Abu Horaira were also present. (INN)
