Governor calls for a pride of place for India in emerging technologies

Hyderabad: Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has called upon the young IT professionals, organizations, and policy-makers to ensure pride of place for our country in the emerging technologies.

“The fields like Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, robotics, blockchain technologies, virtual reality, and digital currencies are emerging and are likely to transform the global economy. We must enable the country to be a leader in these fields,” she added.

The Governor was addressing at the Global Ignite-2021, organized on the occasion of Internet Day, here, on Friday.

She stated that we need to leverage the technology for sustainable development and herald an equal and equitable world.

“The access and affordability of the technology is vital to prevent the further widening of the digital divide,” she added.

The Governor has also emphasized on the digital empowerment of the downtrodden sections.

“It is important to create the technology-enabled innovative eco-system for the country’s progress in these emerging fields and take the advantage of our huge talent pool of young technology professionals,” she said.The Global Ignite-2021 was organized by the Millennium Infotech organization with the theme of highlighting the prominence of the internet and digital transformations. (INN)
