Azad Day Celebrations off to Colourful Start at MANUU Model School

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) today started Azad Day Celebrations with a colourful ceremony held at its Model School located in the old city of Hyderabad. MANUU, named after Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the front line freedom fighter and first education Minister of Independent India, celebrate his birth Anniversary on a grand scale every year. Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, MANUU was highly impressed by the cultural programme presented by the school students. He described the School a real Model School. He was presiding over the inaugural. Prof. Khaja Nasiruddin, Director, VRK Women’s Medical College teaching Hospital and Research Centre graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

The nine day long celebrations will culminate on 11th November, 2021 with Azad Memorial lecture.

Talking about academic performances of students, Prof. Ainul Hasan told girl students to excel in studies and to be practical, without struggle life will not move forward. While reciting poem about the famous poet Mirza Ghalib, Prof. Hasan gave message that women plays important role in man’s life. Highlighting the movements took place in India during 1757, 1857 and 1947, he advised students to realize their potential and understand the inner strength and never consider themself weak.

Prof. Khaja Nasiruddin while appreciating the thematic cultural performances by students in the programmes advised them to set a goal in life and to strive hard to achieve it with dedication. Make your life meaningful, benefit people and try to improve the society by setting good example and by doing good work. The developing societies prospers because they evaluate themselves keenly. Addressing teachers, he said you can do good to the nation and the language by following the ideology of Maulana Azad to see a river in a drop of water and to see future in the present while teaching students.

Prof. S.M. Rahmatullah, Pro-Vice Chancellor, while quoting Maulana Azad sayings congratulated the students, for their better academic performances, who proved that Urdu medium education is not a hindrance in progress. While talking about five points encapsulating Maulana Azad’s philosophy, he said that Maulana had a determined intention to achieve independence, encouraged Muslims to join freedom movement. Maulana took India’s education system to new heights, he added.

Prof. Siddiqui Mohd Mahmood, Registrar I/c, talked about Hindu-Muslim Unity, women empowerment, national integrity and said MANUU is established to lit a light of education in socially & educationally backward community. Nations only developed with Unity among people.   

Earlier, the students presented a splendid cultural programme blended with social messages and won accolades from the guests and the audience. Performance about safety measures and precautions of Covid 19 touched one and all. Prize and mementos were also distributed to students in recognition of best performance in academics.

Book “Collection of Omar Khyaam Quartains (Rubaiyath)” compiled by Dr. Syed Fathulla Bakhtiary, School Teacher was also released during the inaugural.

Dr Kafeel Ahmad, Principal, Model School, welcomed the guests and gave a brief about Model School. Ms. Asia Anjum Ara, Head Mistress, present vote of Thanks. Dr. Syed Fathulla Bakhtiary  and Dr. Fheem Ashraf conducted the proceedings.

The programme was telecast live on Instructional Media Centre MANUU Youtube channel.
