TUWJF to give awards to three senior Urdu Journalists

Hyderabad: The Telangana Urdu Working Journalists Federation (TUWJF) is organizing its 2nd annual award function on Friday, 10th December at Urdu Maskan Hall, Khilwat in Hyderabad.

The TUWJF, established in 2016, had instituted three awards named after eminent Urdu journalists Faiz Mohd Asghar, Anwar Adeeb and Tabassum Fareedi. The award comprises Rs. 10,000 cash and a citation.

The Selection Committee has selected senior Urdu journalists Shaukat Ali Khan, Taher Romani and Syed Muneer for the Awards of 2020 for their outstanding contribution in Urdu journalism. The awards will be given in a programme to be attended by Home Minister

Mohd Mahmood Ali, Telangana State Planning Board Vice Chairman B. Vinod Kumar, Wakf Board Chairman Mohd Saleem, Telangana Media Academy Chairman Allam Narayana, Telangana Board of Intermediate Education Secretary Syed Omer Jaleel, Indian Journalist Union (IJU) President K Srinivas Reddy, Urdu Academy Director/Secretary Dr. Mohd Ghouse, Telangana State Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) General Secretary K. Virahath Ali, Minorities Commission former Chairman Mohd Qamaruddin and Prof S۔A. Shukoor, former Head of Urdu Dept of Osmania University.

TUWJF President M.A. Majid, General Secretary Syed Ghouse Mohiuddin and Convenor Habeeb Ali Al Jeelani have appealed to the Urdu language admirers to attend the function.

The Federation, since its formation, has been working for the welfare and professional advancement of Urdu journalists. Its activities include conducting training camps, seminars, refreshing courses, providing financial assistance to sick Urdu journalists and making representation to the government on Urdu journalists’ accreditation cards and other issues. (INN)
