GHMC team reviews civic amenities in Delhi

Hyderabad: Led by GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, a team of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, on Tuesday visited New Delhi to study the civic amenities in the national capital.

The GHMC team inspected facilities like public toilets, bus shelters, footpaths, parking and other civic needs. The team also visited the areas where footpaths were freed from encroachments.

Later, the GHMC team visited the office of Municipal Council and called on NDMC Chairman Naresh Kumar and Secretary Chanchal Yadav.

Naresh Kumar interacted with the team and explained various developmental activities like sanitation, Revenue collection and other major civic related issues. He informed that there were nearly 173 Kms main roads, 181sq.km of colony roads, 132 foot paths, 11,907 drainage man holes in the NDMC limits.

The Council is concentrating on solar energy and nearly 95% households are utilizing the facility. The greenery in and around NDMC area is about 48%. The NDMC lifts about 350 metric tons of garbage every day.

The NDMC Secretary informed that a separate App has been introduced for the quick disposal of civic related grievances.

The GHMC Mayor, Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy and senior officials exchanged their views on various developmental activities of the Municipal Corporation.

Chief City Planner Devender Reddy, Additional Commissioner (Revenue) Shankaraiah, Chief Engineer Suresh, ASCI Professor Srinivas Chary and others participated in the meeting. (INN)
