Hyderabad: As a part of the Bicentenary Celebrations of ‘Urdu Journalism’, the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ), Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is seeking a creative and stylized ‘Logo’ that highlights the theme ‘200 years of Urdu Journalism’ and reflects the Department’s mission to promote Urdu Journalism.
The entries for Logo Design Competition are open till 20th March 2022. The participants can submit their entries through the Google Form link: https://forms.gle/pV9jEdTcSJNthSdK6.
According to Prof. Ehtesham Ahmed Khan, Dean, School of MCJ the best design will win Rs. 10,000 and will be launched by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan on 27th March 2022. Persons engaged in graphic and designing sections of the Urdu newspapers and the students pursuing courses in Urdu journalism can participate in this competition. The logo should celebrate the history of Urdu Journalism and lay a foundation for the future. The logo and text should appear uncluttered”, he said.
The Bicentenary Celebrations also include competitions in making of video memoirs, video documentary production and plays on Urdu journalism.
Mr. Meraj Ahmad, Assistant Professor of the department and Incharge of the competition said that the participants should submit a high-resolution (600 dpi) image of the ‘Logo’ aligned with slogan text (200 years of Urdu Journalism) in Urdu and English separately or bilingual initially in JPEG formats only. The details include that “Each participant must submit a brief description (maximum 100 words) of the logo (I.e. explanation of the logo, symbol, colour etc.)”. The Logo design can be multi-colour. The winner shall be required to provide the original open-source file of the designed Logo along with JPEG, PNG, BMP, TIFF formats.
The idea of the Logo should be original. The University reserves all the rights to use the logo in any capacity and endorsement of any programmes in future. The University reserves the right to modify the Bicentenary Celebrations logo 2022 in any way, such as by changing the design, colour etc, Meraj Ahmed added.
