All set for Osmania Taksh – 2022 from March 24

Hyderabad: Osmania University is conducting Osmania Taksh – 2022, a three-day event from March 24-26.

This three-day festival envisages inviting the general public, student aspirants,  alumni to the University to gain an insight into the research infrastructure facilities, courses offered, faculty etc thereby moulding perceptions among people about the University.

The first day (24 March) will be an Open Day for visitors to go around the various departments/ research centres/ colleges and interact with the staff, students and researchers on the nature of activities/ research/equipment/courses offered / faculty etc. The timings are 10.00 AM to 4.00 PM.

The administration plans to have alumni meets on 25 March in respective departments/colleges. It would be an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with the Department and have interactive sessions with the current batch of students and Faculty. Also, the occasion would serve to enrol alumni whose expertise could be sought to augment the curriculum and the teaching-learning process. The meets will commence from 10.00 AM onwards and end at 1.30 PM.

On both the above days, the cultural programme will be staged in the Tagore Auditorium from 4.00 PM onwards.

The culmination of the festival on the third day (March 26) will see a grand cultural programme in the landscape garden between 4.30 PM to 7.30 PM. The programme will feature skits, songs, musical events by winners of the intercollegiate competition held recently. Shri Goreti Venkanna National Sahithya Academy Awardee and Hon’ble MLC will be the Chief Guest for the Cultural Programme.

This being a mega-event the University administration has directed the Principals, directors of research centres, Heads of Departments to showcase the research output, best practices and the infrastructure available. They have been asked to render all facilities/ assistance to the visitors. Also, bus shuttle services are being arranged for commuting within the campus. Security, parking and fire safety arrangements are being put in place for the smooth conduct of the event.This is the first-ever event taking place in the University which was roiled by the Telangana agitation. The administration appeals to the general public and alumni to visit the historic University in large numbers and make the programme a success. (INN)
