Karimnagar: Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister K Tarakarama Rao on Monday met Mayors and Municipal Chairpersons in Karimnagar to review various development works undertaken by the municipal bodies.
The minister along with Finance minister is said to have sought details on the progress of various schemes launched by the state government from the civic heads and municipal special officers.
KTR later made a surprise visit to a sand-mining area on the outskirts of Karimnagar and inspected the mining activity. He also interacted with the workers involved in sand mining at the area.
The minister a directed officials to ensure that there was no scope for any illegal mining in and that the same should be dealt with an iron hand if it surfaced.
Earlier, ABVP activists tried to block the convoy of the minister demanding the state government not to cancel Eamcet-II and to punish those responsible for the leaking the papers. Police swung into action and bundled the protestors in police vans. (INN)
