Lecture on Gandhi held at MANUU

Hyderabad: Gandhiji was an epoch-making personality. Prof. Ambika Datta Sharma, Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar, M.P. expressed the view today while delivering the online lecture “Gandhi: With Time and Beyond the Time” on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, MANUU presided over.

The School of Education & Training, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) organised the lecture.

Continuing his lecture, Prof. Sharma said for all of us Gandhiji’s life is an open book which is not separated into private and public chapters. Unfortunately we, the Indians are falling short of valuing his great contributions to the humanity while people from all over the world have been admiring his charismatic personality, he added.

Prof. Ainul Hasan said no leader was invited to the Round Table Conference but Gandhi, because the British government also realized that Gandhi is a person who is dominant. The messages of truth and non-violence that Gandhiji spread are still priceless for the world. We have to put his thoughts into action, he added.

Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar was the Guest of Honour. Prof. Mohd. Moshahid, Head, Department of Education and Training and Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed I Patel, Provost Boys Hostel shared the dais.

Prof. Siddiqui Mohd. Mahmood, Dean, School of Education & Training in his introductory address said we celebrate Gandhiji’s birth anniversary to remember and admire his thoughts, ideas, experiences and his services. Gandhiji’s educational philosophy has found its rightful place in the NEP 2020, he said.

Dr. Ashwani, Associate Professor & coordinator lecture delivered welcome address and briefed about aims & objectives of the lecture.

Assistant Professors – Dr. Akhtar Parveen introduced guest speaker, Dr. Jarrar Ahamad proposed vote of thanks and Mrs. Dilnaz Bano convened the programme.

Dr. Akhtar Parveen, Dr. Umme Salma, Dr. Jarrar Ahamad, Dr. Samad TV, Mr. Jahangeer Alam, Mrs. Dilnaz Banoo were members of the organising committee.
