Hyderabad: Health and Family Welfare Minister T Harish Rao said that the state government was providing Nutrition Kits with motherly care in mind to reduce malnutrition among pregnant women.
Harish Rao said that giving nutritious food to the women to be mothers was the main purpose of Nutrition Kits. He advised that only pregnant women need to make use of these kits. The minister virtually launched the KCR Nutrition Kits scheme from the Kamareddy district collectorate on Wednesday along with Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Minister Vemula Prashant Reddy and other officials.
He said that the scheme was started to reduce haemoglobin deficiency among pregnant women especially those with a poor background. He said that these kits were for mothers and children and each kit is worth Rs 2000/-. Each pregnant woman would be provided two kits as per the scheme. The minister said that the number of women and child deaths was reduced a lot in the state.
Harish Rao said that CM KCR was working with a great vision and doing what people need. He said that drinking water supply was being provided at home in the state. The minister said that about 551 residential schools were established for girls.Stating that BRS works for people and BJP imposes taxes on people he said that the Centre was doing divisive politics and his party was doing nutrition politics.
