Hyderabad: Telangana Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that Mahatma Gandhi brought freedom to the country only through peace and harmony. Everyone should follow Gandhi’s methods. He said that miracles could be created if human resources are utilized with consciousness.
On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy paid tributes to the father of the nation on the legislative assembly premises. Later, he said that Gandhi Ji wanted to help the poor not only with words but with hands. He said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar was implementing the village Swaraj that Gandhi Ji dreamed of. He said that other states were also following the Telangana model. He said that although the Center opposes many things, it cannot hide the facts.Sukhender Reddy said that the country’s federal system and the secular system should be preserved. He said that the present conditions were totally against the spirit of the constitution. He criticized that they were damaging the spirit of the constitution with perversion. Those who hold constitutional posts were advised to act responsibly. The Legislative Council, the Legislative Assembly and the Governor should tend to exchange with each other. He expressed hope that everything would be sorted out. (INN)
