Krishnaiah demands an increase in mess charges for students

Hyderabad: BC Welfare Association national president R Krishnaiah said that the Telangana Government had increased the salaries of government employees but it was not enhancing the mess charges of the students.

Speaking in a meeting with the students at BC Bhavan in Vidyanagar on Tuesday, Krishnaiah demanded that the government increase the mess charges of students from Rs.1500 to Rs. 3000 in accordance with the increased prices of essentials. He also demanded the construction of buildings for the residential schools immediately. He said that basic facilities should be provided in all the welfare hostels.

He alleged that the BC Welfare minister and officials were not concerned for the welfare of BCs. He advised Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao to hand over the BC Welfare portfolio to Minister K. Tarakarama Rao. He asked the government to think about the future citizens of India and solve their problems as soon as possible.Krishnaiah warned that if the demands of BC communities were not fulfilled, an agitation would be started soon with the help of BC unions. (INN)
