TSFDC gets FSC award of Germany

Hyderabad: The Telangana Forestry and Development Corporation (TSFDC) has received the Forest Steward Council (FSC Germany) certificate for its excellent forest management and development practices.

This certificate allows products made from organic forest products such as eucalyptus, bamboo, teak, and cashew mangoes to use the FSC logo for five years.

Forest and Environment Minister Indrakaran Reddy congratulated the forest officials and staff during a ceremony at Aranya Bhavan. Officials highlighted that they cultivate eucalyptus, bamboo, teak, and cashew mango trees on 75,000 acres of land across the state while adhering to the highest standards of forest management. This recognition was achieved for cultivating crops using organic methods in approximately 45,000 acres of land in Kothagudem, Palvancha, and Satthupalli forest divisions. Minister Indrakaran Reddy praised the certification for enhancing the international reputation of the Telangana State Forest Development Corporation.The officials further informed that the FSC certification would facilitate the sale of FSC-certified wood to global brands like IKEA in the coming years. Minister Indrakaran Reddy emphasized that this recognition is part of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s efforts to increase green cover and promote environmental protection. (INN)
