Babu Jagjivan Ram belongs to all: Jagdish Reddy

Hyderabad: Energy Minister Jagadish Reddy said that former Deputy Prime Minister of India Babu Jagjivan Ram should not be restricted to a community or group. The minister praised him as an architect in the construction of new India.

He was the chief guest at the celebrations organized by the government in the Nalgonda district to celebrate the 116th birth anniversary of the late Babu Jagjivan Ram. On this occasion, the Minister unveiled the newly designed bronze statue of Babu Jagjivan Ram.

District Collector Vinay Krishna Reddy presided over the program and Zilla Praja Parishad Chairman Banda Narender Reddy, local legislators Kancharla Krishna Reddy, Municipal Chairman Mandadi Saidireddy, and others participated in the event.Jagdish Reddy said in the meeting that the spirit of Jagjivan Ram had become a guiding force for the country. He explained the need to present the history of such memorable persons to the present. He recalled that Phule first recognized that progress was possible through education. Minister Jagadish Reddy praised Babu Jagjivan Ram as one of the gems who rose to the top after overcoming dire circumstances. (INN)
