Uttam compares TRS Rule with British Raj

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has compared the TRS regime in the State with that of British Raj.

Speaking after hosting national flag at Gandhi Bhavan to mark the Quit India Movement anniversary on Tuesday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party has fought against the British Rule to get independence for the country.

He said that the party workers need to fight a similar battle against the “anti-people and anti-farmer policies” of TRS Government.

He said that the Congress party would fight against the “corrupt and dictatorial” regime of TRS. He asked the Congress workers to strengthen the party in about 8,000 villages in the State.

The TPCC chief said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Telangana only after touring more than 50 countries.

Shockingly, he patted his back and also praised TRS Government after inaugurating projects which were launched by previous Congress Government.

Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the State Government was forcibly acquiring the land from farmers. He said that the Congress party would wage a legal battle to get the GO 123 scrapped besides holding public protest.

He said that the Congress workers would not rest until farmers of Telangana get justice.

The TPCC chief also informed that he had reviewed the performance of all District Congress Committees and directed them to organise protests on local issues.

He said that the process of constitution of committees from village to district levels would be completed by soon.

The TPCC Coordination Committee meeting will be held in Adilabad on August 16 followed by a public meeting ‘Rythu Garjana’ on the same day. The next day, the Congress party would hold presentation on irrigation projects at Gandhi Bhavan, he informed.

TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and other senior leaders were also present. (INN)
