Telangana has 43% of the total MBBS seats in the country: Harish Rao

Hyderabad: Telangana Health Minister Harish Rao has said that the state government has achieved another important milestone with respect to the number of MBBS seats.

In a Tweet, Rao said that 43% of the total medical seats available in the country for the academic year 2023-24 in the scope of government medical colleges are from Telangana. He said that out of 2118 MBBS seats available in the country, 900 seats are from Telangana.

Harish Rao attributed this achievement to the vision of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who had promised to set up a medical college in each district of the state. He said that the government has already established medical colleges in 18 districts and is working to establish medical colleges in the remaining districts as well.Harish Rao said that the increase in the number of MBBS seats will help to improve access to medical education in Telangana and will also help to meet the growing demand for doctors in the state. He said that the government is committed to providing quality medical education to the youth of Telangana and that it will continue to invest in the healthcare sector. (INN)
