Our Garbage our responsibility, says Harish Rao

Hyderabad: Finance and Health Minister T. Harish Rao has stressed the importance of both personal and environmental hygiene to maintain a healthy family and society.

Harish Rao launched the Swachh Town program and garbage collection drive in Siddipet, and as part of this, he participated in a campaign called “Our garbage is our responsibility.” He walked through the 18th ward of the town and personally removed papers and covers that had accumulated in a dirty canal. He emphasized that the accumulation of garbage could lead to unhygienic conditions, and advised people to keep their homes and surroundings clean.

The Minister also highlighted the importance of mosquito prevention during the rainy season. He said that mosquitoes can breed in stagnant water, even if the surroundings of a house are not clean. He urged everyone to work together to prevent mosquitoes, in order to stay safe from diseases like dengue and malaria.Harish Rao pointed out that there are more mosquito larvae in water stored in flower pots and coconut shells. He said that if everyone takes care to keep these water containers clean, every family can be healthy. He stressed that prevention is better than cure when it comes to health and that a healthy society can be formed only by taking precautions to avoid diseases. He especially advised parents to be careful with young children. (INN)
