Water bodies across Telangana continue to overflow

Hyderabad: Heavy rains have caused flooding in Telangana, with water bodies overflowing and the Godavari River flowing dangerously high.

The flood is raging at Kandakurthi in Nizamabad district, which is the mouth of Godavari. With the continued flow of 3 lakh cusecs from upper Maharashtra and the lifting of the Nizamsagar gates, the flood through the Manjira River is pouring heavily at the Triveni confluence. The Godavari flows touching the high-level bridge built on the Godavari River on the Telangana-Maharashtra border.

Officials have warned people to be alert in the wake of heavy rains. They have advised people to stay indoors if possible and to avoid going out unless it is an emergency. They have also advised people not to stay under trees or near electric poles during the rains.The government administration is ready to face any calamity, and people can call the toll-free number in case of emergency. (INN)
