Hyderabad: In a move aimed at providing relief to citizens, the newly-elected Congress government in Telangana has declared an impressive 80% discount on pending traffic challans. The announcement was made by the Traffic Police on Friday, specifying that these discounts will come into effect from December 26.
Under this initiative, a remarkable 80% discount will be applied to pending fines for 2 and 3-wheelers, while a 60% discount has been sanctioned for four-wheelers and heavy vehicles. According to sources from the Telangana Traffic Police, this discount program will be operational from December 26 and will remain in effect until January 10, 2024.To facilitate easy payment, traffic police sources have recommended utilizing the e-challan website for settling arrears. Furthermore, sources indicate that after making payments according to specific vehicle categories, any remaining outstanding amounts will be automatically waived. (INN)
