CM Revanth Reddy unveils bold vision for Telangana’s industrial future

Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced the creation of the Mega Master Policy, aimed at fostering industrial growth across Telangana by 2050.

Following a meeting with representatives from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for a forward-thinking approach to industrial development. He pointed out that the formula applied for industrial growth in the Telangana region between 1994 and 2004 resulted in significant progress, reaching another level from 2004 to 2014. The government is now committed to achieving the highest growth stage in the coming years.

Revanth Reddy outlined a new, investor-friendly policy to attract investments for industrial development. He stressed the importance of dispelling misconceptions and suspicions related to industrial growth, assuring that every investment made by industrialists in Telangana would be protected and gain more value. The Chief Minister made it clear that the government’s focus diverges from the Congress government’s emphasis on rural welfare, highlighting a new policy geared toward overall development.

Expressing the desire for industrial development to extend beyond Hyderabad, Revanth Reddy emphasized the goal of developing all regions of Telangana similarly to the capital city. He asserted that the government intends to expand industries to rural areas, linking the prosperity and welfare of villages with development and investments in urban centres. The Chief Minister called for cooperation from enthusiasts and industrialists to implement the investor-friendly policy for the holistic industrial development of all sectors.

As part of this policy, Telangana will be divided into three clusters. An urban cluster within the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road (ORR), a semi-urban cluster from the ORR up to the Regional Ring Road, and a rural cluster beyond the Regional Ring Road will be identified to encourage industrial establishment. Revanth Reddy mentioned the government’s clear vision for the development of pharmaceutical industries, proposing the creation of pharma villages rather than pharma cities on 1000 to 3000 acres, ensuring accessibility and infrastructure without inconvenience to residents.

The Chief Minister highlighted the potential for industries in Zaheerabad, focusing on food processing, sports, automobile, and organic clusters, in addition to IT, pharma, and health. He identified opportunities in Hyderabad for manufacturing equipment required for the defence and naval sectors. A new solar power policy with incentives for solar energy industries is also in the works. Revanth Reddy asserted that elections and politics are separate from development, emphasizing their commitment to visionary and transparent development goals.

Addressing misconceptions about the Congress government’s stance on industrial growth, Revanth Reddy invited industrialists and investors to engage in discussions and decision-making. He emphasized the importance of not rushing to conclusions without consulting officials and government representatives. The Chief Minister recognized the state’s unemployed population of approximately 35 lakhs as valuable human resources and announced plans to establish skill universities for providing vocational training to enhance employment opportunities for youth.

Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, Principal Secretary to CM Seshadri, IT Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, and others, participated in the meeting.Chief Minister Revanth Reddy reiterated his commitment to 24-hour accessibility in both his office and camp office for discussions with industrialists and investors. (INN)
