Telangana Government will establish Genome Valley Phase-II on 300 acres soon: CM Revanth

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced the forthcoming establishment of the second phase of Hyderabad’s Genome Valley.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the Healthcare and Life Sciences Bio Asia 2024 conference at Hitex on Tuesday. During the event, CM Revanth Reddy congratulated Nobel Laureate Professor Greg L. Semenza for being selected for the Genome Valley Excellence 2024 Award this year. Accompanied by Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu, the CM presented the award to Semenza.

CM Revanth Reddy stated, “Genome Valley will be established on three hundred acres with an investment of Rs. 2000 crores. The process of setting up ten pharma villages with an investment of Rs one lakh crores has already begun. This initiative will create numerous opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs, providing 5 lakh jobs. The pharma villages will be situated in greenfield pharma sectors in Vikarabad, Medak, and Nalgonda districts. The location, in proximity to the Hyderabad International Airport, is advantageous for entrepreneurs worldwide.”

The Chief Minister highlighted the significance of the BioAsia conference in Hyderabad amid growing global health concerns following the COVID-19 pandemic. He expressed confidence in Hyderabad as the bioscience capital, producing one in every three vaccines used worldwide.

CM Revanth Reddy emphasized the need for global collaboration in addressing health security challenges, stating his government’s commitment to developing Hyderabad as a hub for IT software, research, and startups alongside biosciences. He underscored the government’s priority for the MSME sector, bridging small startups and large corporations.

The CM revealed, “My government is ready to fulfill the dreams of investors and entrepreneurs for growth.” He announced substantial investments of Rs. 40,232 crores in the recent World Economic Forum at Davos. The CM welcomed Takeda company’s agreement with Biological-E company to produce five crore doses of vaccines annually. He noted the confidence built in the world with companies like Miltenyi from Germany setting up a research centre in Hyderabad.CM Revanth Reddy expressed his wishes for the Hyderabad BioAsia conference to be a successful platform for fruitful discussions, promoting the well-being of humanity and progress. (INN)
