Met Dept forecasts rain for Telangana over the next five days

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Meteorological Center has forecasted light to moderate rainfall across Telangana for the next five days.

This prediction follows the identification of surface circulation in North Coastal Andhra and surrounding areas, as well as at a height of 3.1 km above mean sea level in the Southwest Bay of Bengal. Due to this, a low-pressure area is expected to form in the Southwest Bay of Bengal by Wednesday, moving northeastwards and intensifying over the central Bay of Bengal by the morning of May 24.

Currently, a surface trough exists 0.9 km above sea level from the southwestern Bay of Bengal to northern interior Karnataka via Rayalaseema. Additionally, the cyclonic circulation over the North Odisha-West Bengal coasts adjacent to the Northwest Bay of Bengal has weakened. Consequently, the Hyderabad Meteorological Center has issued warnings of potential thunderstorms with lightning in Telangana. The forecast specifically indicates light to moderate rains in Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanmakonda, Janagam, Siddipet, and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts on Tuesday. On May 22, there is a chance of rain accompanied by gusty winds in the districts of Adilabad, Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Kothagudem, and Khammam.
